Join us for lunch in Golden Gate Park, Saturday July 15, and an opportunity to try adaptive cycling
Who’s up for a free lunch and hanging out with your NorCal wheelchair community? Then join us with family and friends on Saturday July 15 around lunchtime for fun conversation and community. If you’re just coming for lunch, complete the second form below so we have numbers. If you’re coming for lunch and handcyling, make an appointment by contacting cycling@borp.org or 510-848-2930. Please complete the waiver forms here before you arrive.
BORP has some adaptive bicycles for you to try if you’re interested. You will be able to ride on a number of roads that are closed to traffic plus other pathways throughout the park. This event is made possible by the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Departments partnership with BORP.
A word about parking - as you can imagine, Saturday lunchtime at Golden Gate Park will be busy. We suggest you try and get there around 11 - 1130 to avoid the lunchtime rush. Here’s some info that may help you with parking -
There are multiple places to park. You will enter the park from the south on Lincoln Way turning north into Martin Luther King Jr Dr towards the Music Concourse, California Academy of Sciences and the De Young Museum, then turn right on Music Concourse Drive.
This road leads to the Music Concourse Underground parking lot that has accessible parking spots. Just before the entrance, if you turn left is where the 20 accessible spots are located behind the Music Concourse. In addition, there are some accessible parking spots located on Martin Luther King Jr Dr behind the Music Concourse by the intersection with Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr.
Here is a map/directions to the 20 accessible spots and museum parking. Note it is an old picture before the lot was installed for 20 accessible spots.
